When does your day start?

Happy New Year!
There is often no greater encouragement for me than when, in my most needed time, I receive encouragement from the Lord.  When He looks at my situation, bears with me, and tells me exactly what I needed to hear… to know… at just the right moment.
Yesterday was one of those days.  And that He told me this on 1/1 didn’t go un-noticed.
I hope this encourages you as much as it did me.
When does your day start?
Not when the sun comes up.  It starts at 12:01 AM.
It starts when there is no light.  It starts when most are asleep.  It usually goes unnoticed (except for 1/1!) and often people still say, “Let’s get to bed, we have to get up early tomorrow” even though, technically, the new day has begun.
Too often we forget this.  Too often we forget that the day starts in the Jewish calendar when the sun sets.
We can rejoice when it is the darkest for the darkness tells us that “yesterday is done… it is a new day.”
If you ever experience a time when you feel like you can’t see that which the Lord has promised you… if you ever feel like it is too dark… too cold…
If you ever feel like there is no way out and you can’t see the light…
PRAISE GOD!  For yesterday is gone… and it is a new day… the Day of the Lord!
Rejoice and be glad in it.
Be expectantly joyous.  Be overcome with the excitement of what you WILL see when the SON RISES!!!
It is not that it has not come… it is not that it isn’t there… it is not that you did not hear…
It is that the Son needs to rise in your life in order for you to see it!
Lift high the name of Jesus in your life.  Give Him the glory.  Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven…
For it is a new day.
The darkness… the cold… the loneliness… the deafening silence…
turn them to joy and see…
The lack of distraction! (Praise God!)… the warmth of His presence… the heightened ability to hear every bump or bang … to hear Word of God as He speaks in the still small voice!
The hours before the Son rises were the hours our Lord prayed the most!  If you want to see Him early in the day… set yourself to prayer.
It may seem dark right now.  It may seem that there is no hope.  It may seem that you are alone.
But know this…
It IS a new day!
And oh what are eyes will behold when we see the SON RISE!!!
