Of all the sheep in His fold, when you turned toward Him, He rejoiced. He rejoiced so much that all of heaven joined in. Angels cheered, cherubim cried. The Father smiled. And when the Father smiles, good things happen. There is more joy in heaven over one who repents and accepts God's gift than could ever be imagined. If you have never been the star of the team, never gotten the awards or been the most popular... realize that there was never a louder roar, a more heart felt rally cry, a greater wave through the crowd than when you accepted the gift of life through Jesus. The longing of the Father is that all His children will come to Him. Not in fear. Not in resentment or frustration. But in love. Love that realizes exactly what He has done for you.
If life is truly a stage and we are all just players, then the greatest applause comes not at the end of the play, no not at all. It comes right after the scene in your life when you look to Christ, open your heart and fall in love with Him. Though you may not see the audience, or even hear the roar of the crowd, you can bank on the promises of Jesus; all of heaven is on their feet.
The reviews in the Heavenly Gazette make the front page. "Wonderfully portrayed, the villain, known as Sinner, in Act 6, scene 3, falls at the foot of the cross and in the most triumphant act of humility clings to the Savior's nail pierced feet. Wardrobe is quick to act as Sinner becomes "Saint" and is clothed in a beautiful white robe. The ovation received has yet to end and all of heaven is in a buzz about the wonderful performance. This tragedy-turned-love-story receives two glorious thumbs up!!"
Listen closely. You can still hear them clapping.
