As we've seen before, snakes have very infrequent meals. But when they do get a nice catch it is usually worth the wait and very filling. This leads us to another aspect of the snake that teaches us.
Snakes are able to eat and digest large meals because they do it very slowly. I don't know maybe they had mothers who often said, "Eat slowly! You're gonna wind up choking!"
When we get an answer to a prayer or a situation arises that is bigger than us, we too must digest it very slowly. Take time to meditate on it. I'm not saying that you have to cross your legs and make humming noises with your eyes closed. I'm saying that you ought to take time to think intently on them. You may see aspects of the answered prayer that you missed at first that will edify you. You may begin to hear that still, small voice that He uses to guide your heart in the way it should go. When you are silent it is much easier to hear Him.
There is no problem or situation that is too big for God. Don't be afraid or feel overwhelmed when something arises that seems enormous. Take time to take it in as though you were eating it and digest it in prayer and meditation. It may take a long time, and a lot of energy. You may have to take a breather with it still hanging out of your mouth, but don't pass up the meal. And don't try to finish it too quickly. You might find yourself choking, gasping for air, feeling as though you are about to be finished yourself. For everything that happens to us there is something He desires us to learn. He designs theses things to mold us and shape, to try us like gold that is tested in fire. And when we've fully consumed it, and have not allowed it to consume us we will be all the more nourished.
Try to look at your trials as meals, the bigger the trial, the more nourishment you get and the stronger you will be.
