Struggling with your faith?

But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]:” Hebrews 11:6a

I have seen some amazing things….

A fish come back to life after praying over the tank.
Arms grow on at least five occasions… with one arm growing close to three inches.
Legs grow twice.
Pain leave ankles, shoulders, backs, heads…
Fevers break and throats healed…

All through prayer, Praise God!

Oh the things I have seen God do!!!  And when I do my faith soars!

And yet I see…

Prayers go unanswered.
The heavens shut…
People die…
Pain persist…
Tumors grow…

What then?  What of my faith in these times?  What of the days when I can’t make sense of it all?  Of the days when I am sitting in the pit… dark… cold… wondering if anyone even knows if I am there, or if I have been a fool all along for believing such things?

Ever have those days?

What of those days?

Do they shake your faith?  They shouldn’t.  And before I sound to harsh let me encourage you with this one thing.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1 emphasis added

If it is impossible to please Him without faith, and faith is what Heb 11:1 says it is then…

our faith does not depend on what we see.  For when we see it, it is no longer faith.  The definition will not allow for that.

I need to hope.  For “hope deferred maketh the heart sick” (Prov 13:12).  And “hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” (Romans 8:24b)

In order to please God we absolutely need days when we only have hope, when what we see is not what we want, and what we get doesn’t seem to line up.  Those are the days of our greatest faith.

We think too often that the greatest days of our faith are those days when we see the seas part and graves open.  But they are not.  Those days are gifts from the Father who makes all things new.

We need moments of desperation in order to find ourselves looking only to Him.  He is not being cruel in those days.  He is not punishing us…

He is perfecting us.

And on those days we are called the loudest to believe.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.  If fact I will turn blue in the face at the constant repeating of it…

Believing is acting in accordance to your confession.

On the days when we feel that we have no way of proving that God is God… when the wisdom of the world creeps in and tells us that we are wrong… when the ruler of this dark age would whisper in our ears “you are alone”…

BELIEVE!

for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6b

On those days… as foolish as it seems… ACT like you know that HE IS… and WAS… and WILL BE.

And, listen to this… HE is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him… His words, not mine.

The world would say that we need proof before we move… but in the kingdom…

…we move to prove.
