Are you having a good day?

Before you answer that question… I want to challenge you to come up with the definition for “good.”
To often we define good from that first person perspective…
How it effects me.  How it makes me feel.  If I like it.  If I think that it is good.
Sometimes we include the second person perspective…
“As long it doesn’t hurt anyone.” If most people think that it is good, or that there is nothing wrong with it.
But even with these statements, we haven’t defined “good.”
But what if “good” is defined as…
… perfectly in line with the will of God?
Use that definition in the following verses and see if it resonates.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God:” Matthew 19:17
Moving from the first and second person perspective to a “Three-Persons” perspective we see that God judges “good” because God is the only One Who knows His will.
When Christ said, “There is none good but one” He was confirming that He was perfectly in line with the will of God, and, that He was one with God.
“How can you say that God is good when there is so much suffering?”  I can say it because God knows His will and never acts out of line with it.  God always acts completely in line with His will.
Man on the other hand… not so much.
But we do not need to worry… for “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.” Romans 8:28
Everything works together to bring us perfectly in line with the will of God.
And so I ask you again… Are you having a day that is perfectly in line with the will of God?
