Our God is a God of Grace.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:” Eph 2:8
Grace is the good we receive that we do not (could never) deserve. Praise God that He is so gracious! So gracious in fact, that He gave His only Son to die in our place. We were given a pardon that we could never earn, not that we could ever deserve.
And it is on that foundation that we must stand. We must stand on a foundation of grace.
The moment we begin to believe, if even for a moment, that our salvation is something that we deserve, something that is due to us… we deny God’s grace. We deny Christ and His atoning work for us through His vicarious suffering.
It must be grace. And we must live in and on it. The Foundation of Grace should rest beneath our every step. We must never forget that even the day we face – regardless of the events within it – are a gift to us from the God of all creation. We must remember that nothing we have is of us, but has been given to us. We must remember that we walk as the redeemed because He desired it! Because He loved us! And He continues to love us, every day, always!
Our perspective on others changes when we stand on the Foundation of Grace. When we realize, truly realize the extent of the grace of God in our lives, we can not condemn anyone… for we can rightfully be condemned and are not! For we stand on the grace of God, the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we find that “there is now therefore no condemnation.”
The natural reaction to a realization of the God’s grace, that Foundation of Grace, that Solid Rock on which we stand, is one of gratefulness!
We become ever thankful for the good that we enjoy at the expense of Christ.
Live in grace. Stand fast on that firm foundation. If God is gracious… and Oh God is gracious!... then He gives regardless of who we are. Praise God! Let Him give through you.
It is all about His goodness!
