If a union is formed when people come into full agreement or contract... then do we ever really have one?
Whether it is in a country, a city, or the Church... I have yet to see a group of people who are in 100% agreement on everything.
What we want is unity. Unity is standing together and loving one another despite our differences. I know I have written it before but I want to reitterate for a particular reason:
The secular trumped the sacred again!
That's right. If we want a good example of unity we can't look to the Body of Christ, but rather to those against it.
I have never met a more diverse group... with so many varying opinions... who are nothing like eachother... who often don't like eachother... that can unite with such passion against one thing... as those who are against the Christian worldview.
Christians are mocked and made to seem unintelligent. They are belittled and laughed at. And the world is seemingly silent.
What would you call a spirit that is shared among so many, that is able to unite such a diverse group to be against Christ?
You got it... the spirit of anti-Christ. Not yet embody in one person... the spirit of anti-Christ is so apparent in the world today that Christians everywhere should be rejoicing for the hope of that Great Day.
Until then... the Body of Christ needs to demonstrate unity. If all who confessed Christ, regardless of denomination, stood together and loved one another despite our differences... the world would be convicted of its sin.
Let's not let the secular continue to trump us in the area of unity.
Let the cross unite us.
