Love “rejoiceth in the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6)

When we think of all of the things that love does and that love is we too often forget that sometimes love is hard to live out.

At the end of the day when we ask ourselves, “What would love do?” we have to realize that love rejoiceth in the truth.  It doesn’t just joy once, but it joys again… in double measure.

How can love rejoice?... Because God is Love.

Think on that for a moment.  When we look at the famous “love” passage we are not just talking about ways that we can demonstrate love…

we are looking at a list of the attributes of Our God, Who IS Love!

God…

suffers long (is patient)
is Kind
does not envy
isn’t boastful
isn’t easily provoked

                                                                        rejoices in the truth, etc…

God gets double pleasure, double joy in the truth.

And “the Truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)

If we are called to share the gospel… to share the truth… then we must consider for a moment that…

Love is looking at someone and bringing the Truth in to their life.

Sometimes the truth is hard.  Sometimes it is uncomfortable to say.  But we must be bold and bring the truth in love. (Eph 4:15).  And the truth is this…

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…

All have sinned (dishonored God) and fallen short…

By His Name (the name of Jesus) we are saved!

Go… bring the Truth… Our Father rejoices in it.
