A continual dropping.

How many men have read the following verse and used it to say “Amen!” because they took it to mean that a nagging wife was just like a bad day of rain?
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.” Proverbs 27:15
Why not look for something good in it?  Contentious means to strive.  Didn’t Jacob strive with God?
Can’t a very rainy day be a good thing?  I know it can.  Especially after a drought.
And do we forget to realize that the effect of a continual dropping means that the ground is watered?
We should that the Lord for wives who strive with us… especially when we need it!  When what we would do or be is against what God would want.  The verse doesn’t specifically say that the wife is wrong!
Your wives are there to water you.  There continual challenging our character only occurs when our character is contrary to God’s.
Let them strive!  We need it.
And may the soil they water become rich and fertile for the seed of the Word of God.
