How long are you willing to hang in there?

If you are like me you get all fired up when God puts in on your heart that He is going to give you something.  And then… when some time passes… you are faced with a decision…

Will you be like the Israelites as they wandered in the desert… complaining… or…
Will you be like Noah… who kept working.
How would you like to wait 120 years for something to come to pass?  How long are you willing to stay at the work He has given you when it looks as though it is useless… and serves no purpose?
How long are you willing to be obedient when others laugh?
How long are you willing to hang in there?
God’s word does not return void.  God’s word shall come to pass.
Though it tarry… it will surely come to pass.
There is a crucible in which we are all ground.  It is the crucible of obedience.  The more “bumps” there are in us… the more “non-uniform” grits… the longer in the crucible… and the harder the pressure.
The pressure may not come from God, but it will come…
From friends…
From family…
From the world.
But when you have been ground… you can more easily and totally be mixed in to the cup…
The cup He drank of.
Sometimes my patience wears thin.  Sometimes I want it NOW.  And by “sometimes” I mean most of the time.
But we must choose to be patient with Him… because He is patient with us.
Let patience have its perfect work in you so that you may be entire… lacking nothing.” (Jimmy)
The longer the wait… the bigger the boat God will fill for you.
