Persisted in unfaithfulness

'Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have persisted in unfaithfulness,' says the Lord GOD." Ezekiel 15:8 (NKJV)
Persistence is a decision.  It takes all you have.  It is like persevering.  You have to be determined in order to persist.
What this verse is suggesting is that Israel, whom God was talking about… but is just as easily applied to any one of us… was actually fighting against any desire to follow the Lord.  They were choosing not to be faithful.
Before you think, “I would never do that!” ask yourself (as I have had to ask myself) if there has ever been a time when you thought, “Oh… it’s not hurting anyone,” or, “We all have our ‘things’,” “God doesn’t really care if I… .”
Sometimes we over-understand His grace.
Paul addressed that.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” Romans 6:1-2
We can’t take in poison as part of our daily diet and expect not to die.
Stop fighting God in those areas where you know He is doing a work.  Do not persist.
Rather resist the devil… and he WILL flee from you. (James 4:7)
