Here are some practical tips that I have learned the hard way…
Never leave the Crisco® container near the vanilla cake icing. (They don’t taste the same)
Keep the can of Easy-off® oven cleaner far from the PAM® non-stick cooking spray. (Burgers don’t come off of the pan too easily when you cook them with oven cleaner)
And whatever you do… NEVER, EVER leave the Clorox® wipes near the TUCKS® pads. (Please don’t ask… butt I will say this… not good.)
Bible by the remote control to the TV: given the option too many times we will flip through channels rather than the pages of scripture.
We might not think it important… but being strategic in our approach to being in the Word is critical.
If I leave my bible in a place where things can distract me, chances are I will be distracted.
If I give myself options I will choose the wrong one more than the right one.
If making a list of priorities, if I am not deliberate, I will put me higher on the list than Him.
It is just the way it is.
We need to be disciplined. We need to act in situations having already decided (discipline) what we are going to do. And one way of not choosing what is behind door number 2 is to make sure that there is no door number 2.
He is the only Way. We must keep our eyes fixed upon Him. We must enter through the straight gate. We must be disciplined.
