Why yes… it does.
If anyone tries to tell you it doesn’t you can speak the words of Christ to them and say, “You do greatly err for you know not the scriptures or the power of God.”
And then, just point them to 1 John 5:7 where it reads:
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
We may not fully understand it, but we can deny that the word teaches it.
I like to use the metaphor of a language.
God the Father is the perfect, fully complete language. Every possible sound, every possible syllable, every word and combination of words. Infinite. The language that IS. It exists. Man is an incomplete, a finite language, taken from the language of God. Man is incapable of fully understanding the language of God because “man” is finite.
God the Son, Jesus, is the translation of God that we can understand because He revealed Himself to man as the language of Man. Infinite God revealed to finite man. Revealed as the Word. For “it is written.” Jesus is Language revealed. Delivered.
God the Holy Spirit is the transmission of the Language. Without the transmission of the Word the Language is unknown. It is by the Holy Spirit that we know. We come to the Father, through the Son because the Spirit convicts us of our sin. The Holy Spirit is the sound. We “hear” the Words by the Spirit. The Father “spoke” (sound) to the prophets by the Holy Spirit.
A language exists, then it is delivered, and then it is received. The Father IS, Son was delivered, the Holy Spirit is received.
The Godhead, Three in One, Father, Spirit, Son.
Praise Him!
