In this world, where everything comes at us so fast; where we are fed line after line and lie after lie; where everyone is trying to get something from us…
Who can we go to for truth, for comfort? Who can we go to knowing that they are looking out for us and not themselves?
We aren’t the first ones to ask this question…
“Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” John 6:68
Think about it logically for a minute. I will give in a bit and say, “If” for those who may not be in agreement with my particular position…
If Jesus really did exist… and…
He really did do all the things that the Bible says… and…
He was crucified, died, and was buried… and…
He rose again…
Then…
We can believe what He said about Himself and everything else because He backed it up with a demonstration of power.
So then, what did He say that Simon Peter considered the words of eternal life?
“I am that bread of life.” ( John 6:48) “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (v51)
Jesus has your best interest at heart. He is here for you. He is not considering Himself. He gave His life for yours.
When you wonder about the world we live in… and want to make sense of it all… and you ask yourself, “to whom can I go?”…
Go to Jesus. You can depend on Him.
