A frozen steak doesn't cook all the way through.

We bought these great steaks.  We had to freeze them for a couple of days.  When it came time to make the meal I goofed and didn’t take them out of the freezer in time.  But we had already promised steak for dinner so we had to hope for the best.
Funny thing is… a frozen steak doesn’t cook all the way through.
The outside gets burnt… which leaves it un-edible, and the inside stays raw… which leaves it un-edible.
The whole steak is useless because too much heat was applied too soon.
Kind of like the heart of a man.
Often we expect too much from a new Christian.  Often we expect someone to come to Christ too soon.  Either way, if the heart has not defrosted… it can get burned on the surface and stay cold on the inside.
And it is next to impossible to get through that rough outside layer once it has been burned.
But my wife’s solution for our steak can be just as effective for that man’s heart.
Marinate it.
Soak in love for as long as necessary until that burnt layer softens and the inside thaws… and you can put it in the oven on low… slowly cooking the inside without drying the outside.
It takes time… but it is so worth it.
If you know anyone who might have cold heart and a burnt surface…
Saturate them with Love… patience, kindness, forgiveness, etc…
When they have marinated for a good long time…
Well, you get the picture.
