Nation against Nation

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” Matthew 24:7a

When Jesus was teaching His disciples of the end of days He made the above statement.  I had always taken this to be a general statement related to preceding verse where it mentions “wars and rumours of wars.”  However, in later verses, the word “nations” is used with a qualifier that would make it plural. 

And then it dawned on me, or should I say that the Spirit of the Lord convicted me, to look at it differently.

The Nation that shall rise up against another Nation in the end is the Nation of Islam against the Nation of Israel.

The kingdoms at war are the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light.

In this teaching Jesus was confirming what would come to past.  He was the greatest of all prophets and these words are for us to understand the plan.

In this we are comforted and convicted.  Comforted that we, as the Bride, having been caught away, will not be partakers of this final battle;  Convicted that Israel, as the only Nation left serving the One true God, is referred to as the Kingdom of Light.

At that time Israel will be “hated of all nations” – every nation of the earth, who have followed the anti-Christ will be remove support from and oppose Israel… and here is the biggest insight we need to realize… Jesus says that this will happen “for my name's sake.”  We call Him Jesus… Israel awaits Messiah.  Israel will undergo this for His name’s sake.  They just might not realize it yet.
