The Lord asked me this question the other night when I was walking the dog.
“What is the one gift I have given you that I would never give anyone else?”
The answer was obvious, convicting, and challenging.
My wife.
And if you are married… He asks you the same question, and gives the same answer.
Salvation is free to anyone who will receive Him. The gifts of the Spirit are given without prejudice.
But the gift of a wife… is for only one. And it is to be cherished and valued.
I need to know this. I need to be praying always that I never forget it.
Two prayers on my heart with regard to this are:
“Lord, that I will never forget that my wife is the one gift that You give only to me. And that I would always remember that she is the main thing.”
“Lord, that in every situation I know what to do and do what I have to in order to honor my wife and bring glory to Your name.”
Thank God that He has a special gift just for me.
