We were just blessed with the most beautiful little granddaughter. She is so incredible. So perfect.
As we were talking with our son and our daughter-in-law about how the Lord fashions us in the womb, how He is so intricately involved in every little detail of who we are it occurred to me.
Have we ever really stopped to think about where a child comes from…
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
I gained a deeper understanding of this verse when I saw this beautiful little girl before me.
She had just spent the last nine months in the temple of God. She was fully in His presence. Fully surrounded by His Spirit and His love.
It’s no wonder babies cry when they come out.
Wouldn’t you? Who would want to leave His presence.
But she had to… so that we could see her… and we could experience more of that love… the love of God.
“The LORD hath called me from the womb;” Isaiah 49:1
“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb”, Gal 1:15
God calls us out of the womb… out of the temple of God… so that others may experience His love.
Our son said it best when he looked at me as he was holding his new daughter.
“You really never know what love is until you hold your own child and realize what God did when He gave us Jesus.”
And when we become born again…
We can enter His presence daily… perpetually… so that whoever we come in contact with might feel some of the love of God.
A love that only comes from being in His presence… and feeling His love.
We spent the first nine months of our lives in the temple of God. And we spend the rest of it trying desperately to get back in it.
Thank God the vale has been torn and we can enter boldly into His presence by the blood of the Lamb.
