“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
When we see all the terrible things happening in the world and we ask ourselves, “What is going on?” we should always remember to have a kingdom perspective… a perspective that says comfort one another with these words.
When the world would be worried, when they become afraid of the future, we as believers need to remember that the end is just the beginning. We need to keep our eyes on the eternal prize. We need to hold onto the hope that the promise of God is true.
Jesus is coming again.
And when He comes for His church, His body, those who have accepted His sacrifice… we are going to get the best seats in the house for the final day when He comes with all of His angels and sets up His reign. Israel will finally see the full reality of the promise of the covenant made millennia ago.
We don’t know when He will catch us up… but we can be sure of this… HE WILL.
And, as for me… I find that comforting.
