Romans 8:31–32: If God be for us…

What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Did you ever have a day when things didn’t go exactly as you had planned?  Did you ever meet someone who just seemed to not like you?  You don’t understand why… but it just is.
And here is the tough question…
Have you ever been the one on the other end?
I have.
I have been the cause of other people’s bad days.  I have met people I just didn’t like.  I wonder if it showed.
And if they were Christians, I have to realize that I was against God.  Did I really think I would be victorious in that?  Did I really think that I could quench the grace of God in their lives.
The same way I find absolute confidence in the fact that when God is for me… no one can be against me… I need to realize that with Him there is no respect of persons.  His love for them will protect them from me.
Praise God for that!  Praise God that, as a loving Father, He both brings His children together, and keeps them apart.
Those of you who are parents of more than one child understand this dichotomy.  You want to have your family together for a nice day out… but you have to be careful who you sit next to whom.
God is for us.  No one can be against us… and win.  And we need to line up with God and stop being against others who are in Christ.
We need to stop acting like spoiled children and start acting like heirs.
We have already gained an eternal inheritance through Christ Jesus.
We need to start being responsible this side of eternity.
