“And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions : And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”
We hear this specific scripture twice. Once here in Joel 2 and the second time in Acts 2.
The debate is rarely that what happened in Acts 2 was the very prophecy of Joel coming to pass, it is more the question as to whether or not it stopped there.
I hold that it didn’t. But don’t take my word for it. Let’s take the Word of God for it.
When the Lord said through Joel, “in those days will I pour out my spirit” He was not talking a about a single instance. If so, we would not have seen it happen again in Acts 4, and we would not have seen it happen to the gentiles when Pete went for a visit.
It is still happening today. The pouring is a continual pouring. It is an “I will continue to pour out” … Why? Because God can never be emptied. He is infinite.
And onto whom is the Spirit being poured out?:
All flesh. Sons. Daughters. Old men. Young Men. Servants. Handmaids.
Yep… that about covers it.
Unfortunately we often hear the old adage, “children should be seen, not heard.”
I wonder how much of the word of God we have missed because we call God a liar and do not take what the sons, the daughters, the young men, etc. say as being from Him.
The Spirit is no respecter of persons. He gives freely and evenly.
An EOA…
Equal Opportunity Anointer.
God Spirit stills moves… it is a river… a waterfall… and we are being covered and filled, if only we receive it.
Listen to God speak… through whomever He chooses.
