Breaking a sweat

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Luke 22:44
One night when I was on my prayer walk I was going before the Lord regarding a season that seamed desolate in my life.  I felt as if I were going through a desert.
“What is going on Lord?” I cried.  “I have seen people healed, miracles happen, heard you voice, and have seen angels… why the desert?  If this is my 40 days… get me to 41!”  I continued, “I can’t imagine what the desert was like for you… I can’t imagine Gethsemane…”
I didn’t even get any further when I heard the Spirit speak to me and say,…
“He sweat drops of blood… are you even breaking one?”
Wow.  Humbling.  The conviction hit me so hard I could barely move.  I need to get my hands to the plow.  I need to be breaking a sweat.
We co-labor… that means work.
Not work to prove ourselves or our own strength, not work to achieve something…
Work to believe something.
We need to be out there ministering God’s grace.  We need to be out there walking the talk.  We need to be out there preaching the truth so that there might be a demonstration of the power of God (what “work” to a Christian really is!)
No one said this would be easy… just that He would lift us up to the challenge.
May there not be enough towels to dry the sweat from our brows as we are about our Father’s business.
