“Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30
While I can’t add to it, or say it any better than the Word of God, I would like to share with you what this passage means to me, taking in some of the things that the Lord has impressed upon my heart regarding this invitation.
When I read these words I understand them to mean…
Come right now (out of necessity) before me, everyone who is growing tired from effort, trying to understand who you are, why you are here, what life is all about, and have been given burdens that you did not ask for, and I will affirm who you are, satisfy what is required , and give you power. Exalt the work that I do, come along side me and retain and put to use what you see me do and hear me tell you; For I have all of the power and authority to do whatever I choose, but I do not use it outside of the will of the Father. Do this and I promise that you will find your identity, that I will provide what you need, and give you purpose. The work I have for you is fit for use and matched perfectly to you.
I hope that this is a blessing to those who read it.
