“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” Romans 8:24
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
We have looked at hope before. We said that it is a present response to a future state or action. But what should our prayer be? What is the prayer of hope?
“Lord, teach me to live further out.”
When we “live further out”, what is in front of us, what we are going through now, the desert that seems so barren… doesn’t determine our actions. We don’t live in that place.
We live further out.
We live in the kingdom. We live in eternity. We can get through the well, the dungeon, the lion’s den, or the desert because we aren’t living in the now,…
we are living in the when.
That time when we walk freely with Christ in fields of glory.
That time when the only light that shines is Him.
That time when there is no sickness, no pain, no worry, no sorrow.
That time is the now that we live in.
The pain of today is the promise of tomorrow.
It reminds us that we are in… but not of… the now.
When someone asks you asks how you can make it through, tell them it is because you don’t live in the now… you live in the when.
Live further out.
