“And it shall be, [that] thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.” 1 Kings 17:4
I needed to get a drain cover for the shower to catch hair. I went to the store and honestly had no clue as to where to get this thing. I tried the obvious (to me) and went to the section that had stuff like shower curtains, shower rods, and the like. Couldn’t find it there.
So I went to the section for plastic white things… there are a few of these. But no luck.
Finally I said, “Lord, I could use a little help here.”
The next isle I turned down, which had nothing to do with little white plastic things, or showers found me doing some fancy maneuvering to navigate through all of the people walking in it. At one point, and employee who was stocking a shelf and had claimed more floor space than what I thought was necessary. As I squeezed past them it caught my eye…
a single, white, plastic drain cover on a shelf behind some other things that I can’t remember.
I could say that it was luck, or chance, or coincidence…
But I would never. My God is too big to be ignored and loves us so much that He’ll even take the time to deliver a drain cover.
It must have been a sight to see those ravens flying into the store to drop this one off!
I wonder if the raven came in the form of a person who picked up a drain cover for no apparent reason, only to find themselves changing their mind, for no apparent reason, and placing it there because they didn’t want to go back to where they got it.
Never knowing that God had used their wings…
To feed a wretch like me.
